You find Lake Feldsee at the foot of Mount Feldberg in a wild-romantic landscape (protected nature reserve of Southern Black Forest); go by car to Hinterzarten / Rinken; now follow the footpath to the traditional Black Forest restaurant Raimartihof; from there, you´ll easily reach Lake Feldsee; or you go by car (or train) to Feldberg / Bärental and park your car on Bärental parking lot; now you follow the footpath to Lake Feldsee; Both hiking tours take you about 1 h.


The Black Forest Panorama Road is one of the most beautiful roads of Southern Upper Black Forest, leading you from Waldkirch via Glottertal, St. Peter and St. Märgen to Hinterzarten. Experience this route with its very special, incomparable flair !

Mount Feldberg
highest Black Forest mountain (1,500 m); by car 45 min off St. Peter; you reach Mount Feldberg via St. Märgen, Thurner, Hinterzarten and Titisee; lots of nice hiking paths; in winter alpine and cross-country skiing

by car 25 min off St. Peter via St. Märgen and Thurner; famous for its ski jump and Georg Thoma, former winner of several international ski jumping competitions; worth seeing: ski museum and Hinterzarten´s spa gardens; lots of hiking paths direction Titisee, Rinken or Raimartihof (Feldberg)

Mount Kandel
Our village mountain - 1,243 m high; you can reach the top by foot, by car or by bus (departure: 9.45 h); different footpaths with a beautiful panoramic view to the Rhine valley; nice hiking tour downwards: Kandel – Platte – Vorderwillmen – Schmittenbach - St. Peter

By car 15 min off St. Peter; very famous for its vineyards; best known is the Eichberg cultivation Roter Bur; pleasant footpath from St. Peter to Glottertal via Uhufelsen or via Hornhof, Wuspeneck and Wuspenhof

By car you reach this university town in 30 min; worth seeing: the cathedral and the lovely old town of Freiburg, lots of different museums, the concert hall, the theatre of Freiburg and its cinemas; there is a beautiful hiking path from St. Peter via Hornhof, Langeckhof, Streckereck, Roßkopf to Schloßberg/Freiburg (4 to 5 h)

Isle of Mainau on Lake Constance
by car about 1.50 h off St. Peter; you take the following route: St. Märgen – Thurner - Kalte Herberge – Urach – Hammereisenbach – Wolterdingen – Donaueschingen and from here the A81 direction Singen / Konstanz; Isle Mainau is very famous for its wonderful huge park areas with countless variations of bushes, trees and millions of flowers (planted according to the seasons); specials: palm house, butterfly house, cultivation of orchids and, of course, the castle of the Isle of Mainau; the isle has got an own landing stage for ships coming from Meersburg, Unteruhldingen and Konstanz; not far away from Unteruhldingen with its pile dwellings you´ll find the famous church of Birnau, constructed by the architect Peter Thumb who also built the church “Peter and Paul” in St. Peter
Meersburg, Lindau and Konstanz are little towns worth seeing for their beautiful architecture

Sauschwänzle Bahn in Blumberg:
